MONA JUNE HARDER

(née Styles)

In the early morning hours of October 30, 2020 our Mother slipped away to join her husband and her youngest son. She was 84 years old.

Mom was born on the family farm in Carlyle, Saskatchewan, to Roy and Edna Styles on June 27, 1936. She was the youngest of six children. Life for her family changed forever with the passing of her beloved father when she was only 10 years old. Mom remained at home until a handsome young highway worker came to board at the farm. Mom and Dad eloped in 1957 and remained inseparable. They eventually moved to Winnipeg and then to their home in Oak Bluff where they raised their family.

Mom had several interests that kept her busy despite being legally blind. She loved working on her photo albums and many hours were spent planting flowers and designing her yard. She was involved with various ladies groups throughout her years in Oak Bluff but was most proud of her TOPS achievements.

Mom struggled with her health for several years before she and Dad decided to move to Winnipeg. She was placed in Personal Care in 2016.

Mom was predeceased by her husband of almost 63 years, Frank, just 50 days before her; as well as by her youngest son, Brian in 1988; both parents; four sisters; and one brother. She is survived by her three children, Susan (Shane), Terry (Kelly), and Brenda (Delmar); grandchildren, Katie (Mike), Christopher, Zachary, Ryan and Rayne; as well as by sisters-in-law Gertrude and Martha; brother-in-law Jerry, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Thank you to the staff at Oakview Personal Care Home for their amazing care for our mother. Cremation has taken place and a joint celebration of Mom and Dad’s life will take place at a later date

Life has to end. Love doesn't.
